The Walpole Police Department regretfully announces the passing of Armando Betro.

On January 31, 1992, Armando J. Betro retired after 18 years as Chief of Police. Armando was sworn in as a Patrolman in 1949. He was promoted to Sergeant in 1961 and Lieutenant in 1968. He became Walpole’s fifth Chief of Police in 1974. During his tenure as Chief, Armando engineered a number of significant changes in the Police Department to improve the quality of service to the community. The Police Department and the town of Walpole owe Armando a debt of gratitude for his 42 years of dedicated service.

The wake is Thursday 4-8 at Delaney Funeral Home in Walpole.
