The Town of Woodbridge, Connecticut is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Chief of Police.

The Town has a duly appointed Police Commission which possesses the power of appointment, promotion and removal of police officers.

The Woodbridge Police Department is comprised of 26 police officers and 10 civilian employees.

In addition to impeccable integrity and a proven record of leadership, the candidate should possess the following: (1) a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in police science, criminal justice, police administration or closely related field; is preferred, (2) a minimum of ten years of law enforcement experience with a minimum of three to five years in a command position, (3) additional specialized training, such as FBI National Academy is desired, (4) demonstrated skills in the following areas; personnel management, budgeting, community policing, investigation and community relations, and (5) demonstrated ability to work with various community leaders and local officials.

The Police Commission reserves the right to substitute other experience or qualifications in lieu of the any of the above listed criteria.
