- Ability for member department officers to attend excellent professional development courses
provided by our partnership with Roger Williams University (RWU) in Bristol RI at a reduced cost.
This savings is much greater than our dues. It includes the Command Training Series; First Line
Supervisor, Mid-Management, Executive Level, as well as the University’s undergraduate Law
Enforcement courses. - John D. Coyle memorial Scholarship at Roger Williams University – School of Justice Studies is to
provide registration fee funding for Executive Development Course. Recipients must be
nominated by their Chief of Police. - Financial Assistance to the surviving spouse, or family of officers killed in the line of duty of
departments whose Chief is an Active member. - We support worthy charitable donations like Special Olympics and The Jimmy Fund.
- Our website, www.neacop.org , is where we publish our current and most up-to-date information
including; the Executive Director’s Bulletin, Chief Magazine, updates of coming events, training
opportunities, job prospects and more. - Member Chiefs can apply for and earn New England regional Community Policing Awardsfor their
agencies. - Member Chiefs can nominate worthy candidates from their ranks for Line of Duty Heroic acts for
the Medal of Valor Award and Life Savings Award for the New England region. - A Mass email system with access to communicate with Chiefs and Police Executives from
throughout New England. - Opportunity to participate in the Annual Training Conference, and annual membership meeting
and serve on committees, hold office and network, and exchange ideas on current policing issues
with Chiefs of Police and Police Executives from our own New England region.
