Police Chief
The Town of Chesterfield, MA seeks a full time, community oriented Police Chief. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the daily operations of the Department, the preparation and management of the budget, participation on the Town’s Emergency Planning Committee, and regular law enforcement duties.
Preferred applicants will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related degree, have graduated from the Full-Time Recruit Academy, and have 5+ years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in Police work. Candidates should have excellent communication, organizational, and managerial skills, the ability to work with minimal direction, attention to detail, work well with the public, and a thorough knowledge of law enforcement. The successful candidate will be expected to reside within 10 road miles of the Town’s border within 1 year of being hired.
