The Town of New Durham, NH is seeking a progressive, community-oriented working Police Chief to lead this full-service police department (Operating Budget >$800,000; Capital / Cruiser Budget >$70,000) including authorized staffing of five FT officers (including Chief), two PT officers, one PT Administrative Assistant. With approximately 2,800 residents, New Durham is a quintessential New England community that is part of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region with Merrymeeting Lake at its core. New Durham is approximately 41 square miles with 2.8 miles of inland water way. New Durham is known for its’ fishing, hunting, hiking, and snowmobiling. With Route 11, New Durham has easy access to the New Hampshire Seacoast and the White Mountains. The Town has a SB2 form of government with an appointed Town Administrator and an elected 3-member Select Board.

A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. At least five years in supervisory, command or administrative positions, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
