The New England Association of Chiefs of Police proudly recognizes law enforcement agencies that demonstrate a department-wide commitment to community policing. This award honors agencies that have fully embraced community policing as a philosophy—building trust, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing public safety through meaningful engagement with the communities they serve. Past recipients have gained positive feedback and additional support from their communities.
AWARD CRITERIA This is not a program-based award. It recognizes the entire agency’s efforts in implementing and sustaining a successful community policing model. Applications are reviewed by the NEACOP Community Policing Committee in collaboration with faculty from Roger Williams University (Rhode Island).
