Chief of Police
The Town of Hinesburg, VT is seeking a progressive, collaborative, community service minded police chief with a proven record of leadership to serve their community. The police chief is a working chief that oversees a department staffed by a chief, a sergeant, three full time sworn officers and three part time officers. The current chief will be retiring after 13 years of service with the department.

Hinesburg is a town in southern Chittenden County, Vermont, with a population of 4,600. The Hinesburg Police Department is a community-oriented police agency with a dedicated and committed staff, housed in a modern police facility.

Minimum qualifications include ten (10) years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience with a minimum of two (2) consecutive years in a supervisory role. A Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, public administration or related field is preferred. Must have, or be able to obtain with one year, a level 3 law enforcement certification from the Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council as well as EMR certification.
