The Town of Litchfield, NH is seeking a full-time, community-oriented Police Chief to lead this full-service police department (approx. budget $1.9M) consisting of 14 sworn full-time officers, 3 part-time officers, and 3 non-sworn support staff; Litchfield police contract emergency communications through a regional dispatch center overnight and weekends.  With approximately 8,500 residents, Litchfield is a quintessential New England community on the Merrimack River in New Hampshire’s Merrimack Valley.  With easy access to Routes 3, 3A, and I-93, Litchfield is just minutes from Manchester, 50 miles north of Boston; and easy travel to the Seacoast, Lakes Region, and White Mountains.  Litchfield is governed by the open town meeting form of government and is led by a Town Administrator and a five-member Selectboard.  A bachelor’s degree is required.
